KINGS Bowl to join Wegmans as anchor of the 3rd Ave in Burlington
Nordblom Co., which is developing the 3rd Ave mixed-use complex that plans to feature lots of retail and entertainment, said that Kings Bowl will join a Wegmans supermarket as an anchor tenant for the Burlington project.
Kings Bowl is a brain child of Hub nightclub impresario Patrick Lyons. The first Kings Bowl opened in Boston a decade ago, and the concept combines bowling with dining, music, retro decor, and adult refreshments. According to Lyons, Kings has reinvented the bowling experience for a new generation.
Nordblom said Wednesday that Kings Bowl has signed a lease for just over 27,000 square feet of space at 3rd Ave, which is part of Northwest Park, a 4.6 million square foot redevelopment project by Nordblom. That project includes plans for building 200 residences.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kings to 3rd Ave,” Todd Fremont-Smith, Nordblom’s senior vice president of development, said in a statement. “As the leader in bowling-themed entertainment and a place where people come to eat and stay to play, Kings is a perfect fit for 3rd Ave – the soon-to-be dining-and-entertainment capital of Route 128.”
Plans call for 3rd Ave to begin opening in the fall. Kings Bowl is expected to open later this year. And Wegmans is projected to open in the spring of 2014. The site was previously occupied by office buildings.
